Head Massage

Have you tried Ayurvedic Indian Head Massage?

Indian head massage is an ancient ayurvedic treatment that focuses on massaging acupressure points along the head, face, neck, and shoulders to not only reduce headaches and improve physical well-being, but to also improve mental and emotional wellness.

Home: Welcome

Welcome

The light within me honors the light within you. Hello! My name is Monica Espinosa and I welcome you to Soul Temple Wellness. I created Soul Temple Wellness as a home of many of the different therapies and practices I have been teaching over the years to my wonderful yogis I have taught around the world. I have been blessed to study under some of the best yoga, spiritual  and fitness leaders and have brought those teachings together in one home, one temple. By bringing together multiple disciplines and knowledge I hope to help each of you achieve a greater spiritual realization, increased mental and physical health, and to reconnect with your inner teacher, your inner wisdom, awakening the divine flame that is within each of us.

We are made of a variety of energies. The physical body houses our soul energies. It needs attention, healing and intent to keep it vibrant and healthy. Welcoming wellness and balance into our lives will allow us to find purpose, abundance and fulfillment.

My Story

My heart is my religion, my body is my temple.

I started my wellness path many years ago in Mexico as a competitive swimmer, where I competed at state and national championships. Those years taught me the value of discipline and mental focus to create change. Later, after university in Mexico, I trained and worked as a spin and fitness trainer. After I moved to Canada I was blessed with three beautiful girls. I took some time to be a mom, one of my greatest, most difficult and rewarding life trainings. When the girls were a little older I continued my education and training path. Today, I am a certified Yoga Therapist RYT 500 hours, I graduated from the Yoga Studio College of Canada, founded by Valery Petrich in 1996, one of the only females who studied directly under B.K.S Iyengar in India, one of the foremost yoga Gurus in the world. I have  specialized in therapeutic yoga for older adults, trauma  (PTSD), chronic pain, arthritis, autoimmune disease, stress relief and other ailments. I primarily follow BKS Iyengar style yoga. I am also trained as a certified Indian Head Massage Therapist (Ayurvedic Yoga branch). As well, I am certified and trained to teach restorative yoga and meditation. Recently I also trained to teach pre-natal yoga. Throughout my practice I integrate imagery visualization techniques, energy healing, meditation, sound and vibrational healing, and aromatherapy.

I am based in Calgary, Canada and teach around the city in different yoga studios, community centers and private clubs as well as I have been offering a variety of private one on one sessions and recently during COVID 19, online trainings and classes which turned out to be a ray of light during a time of uncertainty for me personally, and for my lovely yogis.

I was also honored to become part of a small group of yoga therapists working together with Calgary Rheumatologist Dr. Steve Edworthy and Kim McNeil BSc RYT, launching Yoga for Rheumatic Conditions, one of the first such treatment collaborations in North America. I also specialize in Yoga for Stroke Recovery, teaching yoga therapy weekly  to  the Stroke Recovery Association of Calgary.

In my practice I strive to provide a safe and nurturing space to heal and to reconnect with yourself.

The more I learn it seems the less I know so I try to continuously expand my skills and knowledge through advanced trainings.

Your body is a road map of your journey through life, every physical, emotional or mental scar, stretch mark, birthmark, all tell a personal story. The road of yoga is endless - it all starts with a pose and a thought, and expands into a never-ending path of self discovery and growth. I value each and every person who joins me in this path towards a better quality of life.

My Classes

Throughout our lives we take our mind and body on some un-natural and unhealthy journeys. Lack of physical activity, consuming foods and beverages which do not nurture us and age us sooner. Living life outside the present moment. Looking outward and not inward. Years of these little trips can take an emotional and physical toll without us even noticing the damaging effects. But the mind, body and soul, our beautiful temples, can be restored lovingly.

I have tried to develop each of my classes for you with this in mind. To re-balance your energy, to strengthen and align your body and to open your mind and spirit. To join me on a different journey, that I hope will bring you joy and abundance.

If you are a beginner or expert, inactive or fit, our focus in each class is based on four cornerstones. Proper alignment of the body, deep breathing, quieting the mind, and care to push the body only where the limit brings us to the best we can be at that particular moment.

I have witnessed such amazing advancement from people of all ages and levels, and it brings me unending joy to play a small role in that.

Please take a moment to look at my weekly schedule, and feel free to contact me for any questions or to book a session.
